HistoryNamed in 1913 by Archdeacon Stuck (1921,p73) for Herschel Clifford Parker, 1867-1931, physicist and mining engineer, who accompanied Belmore Browne on the expedition which nearly succeeded in reaching the summit of Mount McKinley [now Denali] in 1912.
