History of Point Bridget

Named in 1794 by Captain Vancouver (1798, atlas, pl.12), RN, probably for his mother whose name was Bridget Berners (Wagner, 1937, p.377). Captain Tebenkov (1852, map 8), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), transliterates the English name as "Bridzhyet."
