between Dry Spruce Bay and Kupreanof Strait, 24 mi. NW of Kodiak, Kodiak I.
Transliteration of "M(ys) Ostrovaka" meaning "Cape of the Little Island," the name given by SUB.-@LT. M. Murashev, Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), in 1839 or 1840 and published in 1849 on Russian Hydrographic Dept. Chart 1425. Baker (1906, p. 330) published "Islet Cape" as the translation of Murashev's name. Because of duplication the name was changed to its present form in 1937 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS).
