History of Saginaw Point

Named in 1869 by Commander R. W. Meade, U.S. Navy (USN), for the USS Saginaw which he commanded in 1868-69 while mapping this area. The name was published in 186 9 on Hydrographic Chart 225. The name is not shown on recent maps.
