History of Squaw Creek

Originally named Squaw Gulch by prospectors; reported in 1896 by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) (Spurr, 1898, pl.50). However, the present name was reported in 1904 by D. C. Witherspoon, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
