In Denali National Park, N of the head of Sunset Glacier, 14 mi. E of the mouth of McKinley River, and 33 mi NE of Denali, Alaska Range.
Named in 1953 by R. E. Isto, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), and Bradford Washburn for Lieutenant Gordon D. Scott, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), who was killed in the course of mapping operations in the area.
