History of Mount Blackburn

Named in 1885 by Lieutenant Allen (1887, p1. 59), USA, for Joseph Clay Stiles Blackburn, 1838 1918, State and U. S. Congressman and U. S. Senator from Kentucky. Its first ascent was by Dora Keen and G. W. Handy on May 19, 1912 (Farguhar, 1959, p. 213).
