In Glacier Bay National Monument, St. Elias Mts., 0.7 mi inland from the NE shore of Glacier Bay, 2 mi. W of Black Cap Mtn, 28 mi NE of Mount Crillon, and 62 mi. NW of Hoonah.

History of Vivid Lake

Named by National Park Service (NPS) in 1962 becasue its vivid blue-green color is in striking contrast to the coloring of other lakes in the area.
