HistoryAn Eskimo name reported to mean "one that resembles a White Whale." The name alludes to bumps on the whale's head represented by large boulders on the ridge according to W. O. Pruitt, University of Alaska, in 1962. Project Chariot personnel reported the name as "Ahviknuk" in 1962.
