History of Sedanka Pass

Named for Sedanka Island by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1921. John J. Gilvert, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), commander of the Coast Survey steamer Pathfinder between 1900-01, called this feature "Egg Island Passage" for the island located on its east side.
