In Glacier Bay National Monument, extending N between Reid Inlet and Glacier Bay, 20 mi NE of Mount Crillon, 72 mi. NW of Hoonah, St. Elias Mts.
Named by National Park Service (NPS) in 1962 in honor of Joe Ibach (died 1959), who once lived on Reid Inlet and extensively explored and prospected for 35 years in the area now located within the national monument.
