name published in 1869 Coast Pilot (p. 155). shown in 1788 as part of the "Rose Island" of Captain John Meares, Royal Navy (RN). 1788 by Bodega y Quadra and Francisco Antonio Maurelle. published as "Kamen Siuchiy," meaning "Sealion Rocks," in 1847 on Russian Hydrographic Dept. Chart 1378.
