Heads on the N slope of Kikiktat Mountain and flows NNW to the Oolamnagavik River, 19 mi. N of Kurupa Lake, 30 mi upstream from the Colville River, Brooks Range
So named about 1950 by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) geologists during exploration of the Naval Petroleum Reserve No. 4 because "a Travelair (plane) crashed and burned near the creek."
