History of Riley Channel

The name "Riley Channel" is written in pencil on a manuscript map by Lieutenant G. M. Stoney, U.S. Navy (USN); probably named by him in 1885 for an Eskimo interpreter in his party, Ounalook, whom they nicknamed "Riley."
