History of Poverty Creek

Prospectors name from an unpulbished map by E.J. Chamberlain, dated 1902. In 1956 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) applied this name to a stream Northeast of Essie Creek, instead of one to the south as the Chamberlain map shows it.
