History of Long Creek

Prospectors' name reported in 1911 by S. R. Capps (in Brooks, 1912, pl. 9 and p. 196), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). In 1906 R. W. Porter, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), applied the name "Dog Creek" to the same feature.
