In the Talkeetna Mountains, flowing ESE to Caribou Creek, 0.5 mi upstream from the mouth of Mazuma Creek, 21 mi. NW of Tahneta Pass, and 88 mi NE of Anchorage, Takleetna Mts. 6 miles long.
Named in 1956 by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) for the beds of volcanic glass found along its valley.
