History of Gines Creek

Native name recorded in 1849 by Captain Mikhail Dmitrievich Tebenkof (1852, map 7), governor of Russian America, as "r(eka) Gines" or "Gines River." It was called "HInes Creek" by Baker (1906, p. 307).
