Heading in the moraine of a glacier, just NE of Nizina Mountain, and flowing ESE to the W side of Nizina Glacier near its terminal end, 17 mi. NE of McCarthy, Wrangell Mts. 2.2 miles long.
Named in 1962 by E. M. MacKevett, Jr., and D. L. Jones, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) because the stream heads in a spectacular basin-like feature termed the amphitheatre.
