Heads on the NW side of the Kuskokwim Mountains at 634415N, 1553530W and flows NW and SW near its source, then NW then SW to the Innoko River, 38 mi SW of Poorman and 64 mi. S of Galena, Innoko Low.

History of North Fork Innoko River

Local name obtained in 1908 by A. G. Maddren, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Indian name, apparently obtained in 1838 by Alexander Kolmakov; was written in 1842=44, as "R(eka) Ttachegno" by Lieutenant L. A. Zagoskin, Imperial Russian Navy (IRN); later written by Father Jett' in 1915 as "Takhakna."
