heads in lake, flows N to Meade River, 85 mi. SE of Wainwright, Arctic Slope.
This Eskimo name was originally shown on a 1925 field sheet by Gerald FitzGerald, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), applied to the stream currently known as Awuna River. The name "Kaksu" somehow has migrated to the headwaters of the Meade River.
