History of Lookout Ridge

Name proposed by Gerald FitzGerald, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in 1925, in reference to the numerous Eskimo lookout stations and frames of old camps seen there. This ridge is a convenient observation area for the Eskimo in hunting caribou.
