History of Becket Ridge

Named for Thomas Becket (1118-1170), English Royal Chancellor, Archbishop of Canterbury, and Martyr, because the date of his death corresponds with the elevation of the highest point on the ridge. Named in 1965 by a geologist of the B. P. Exploration Co., Inc.
