History of Mount Schwatka

Named in 1902 by Lieutenant Hjalmar Erickson, USA for Lieutenant Frederick Schwatka, USA, who explored the Yukon in 1883. Erickson also reported that the Indinas called it "Mkleetokumenah," "which means 'mountain with lake on top.'""
