History of Mount Bressler

Named by the Juneau Icefield Research Project in 1964 for Dr. Calder Tupper Bressler (1919-1959), geologist and head of the Department of Geology, Western Washington College. As geologist with U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), he spent several years working in the Brooks Range. He was killed on Mount Rainier during Project Crater, a glaciophycial investigation.
