In a group 3 mi SE of Walker Lake, bounded on the N by Helpmejack and Kichaiakaka Creeks, on the E by the Alatna River, and on the W by the Kobuk River, Brooks Range. 28 miles long by 13 miles wide.
Named by W. W. Patton, Jr., U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in 1966 for Helpmejack Creek which flows along the northern edge.
