Seven mi. N of Imuruk Lake and 1.5 mi SSW of the Asses Ears, Seward Peninsula High.
Named by a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) field party in 1947, "because of its high topographic position ...and because the area surrounding the lake is subject to an exceptionally large quanity of cloudy and foggy weather." This appears to be the "Lake Howie" reported in 1900 by Mendenhall (1901, pl. 4a), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Reported in 1950 by D. M. Hopkins, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
