In Tongass National Forest, at the foot of Chamberlin Glacier and forming the headwaters of the Akwe River, 2 mi. NW of Ustay Lake, 37 mi SE of Yakutat, St. Elias Mts. 1.8 miles long.

History

Local name derived from Akwe River for which the lake is the source. The name was published by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in 1959.
