population 223, on SE shore of Lake Aleknagik, 17 mi. N of Dillingham; Kilbuck-Kuskokwim Mts.

History

Eskimo village recorded as "Sel(eniye) Imyak" by Captain Tebenkov (1852, map 4), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN). there were two villages, both named for the lake, the other being at the head of Lake Aleknagik. village have disappeared.
