History of Whidbey Passage

Named by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1942 for Joseph Whidbey, Master of the Discovery, and one of Captain George Vancouver's principal assistants, who landed at the mouth of Glacier Bay in 1794.
