History of Moffet Point

Named by Captain Lutke (1836, p. 262), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), for Midshipman Samuel Moffet, a member of his crew on the sloop Moller during his voyage around the world from 1826-29. This point was called "Neumann" by U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF) in 1888.
