History

named by Captain Lutke (1836, p. 261), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), as "Cap Seniavine" for the corvette in which he explored this area in 1828; as Cape Seniavin on an 1888 U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF) chart.
