About

On Alaska Peninsula, in Katmai Natinal Monument,, extends NE 8 miles off North Arm Naknek Lake, 30 mi NW of Mount Katmai, Aleutian Range.

History

Named in 1922 by R. F. Griggs, Natinal Geographic Society. In 1923 R. H. Sargent, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), reported the native name as "Elingit."
