Composed of East and West Pinta Rocks, off the NW coast of Kupreanof Island in Frederick Sound, 4 km (2.5 mi) S of Turnabout Island.
Named by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS); published in 1891 Coast Pilot (p. 141). The name was derived from the U.S.S. Pinta, which navigated these waters.
