August 3, 2024 - Boating Fatality at Cook Inlet
Mary, 37, and David Maynard, 42, from Troy, Texas and their two sons, Colton, 11, and Brantley, 7, went missing when the 28-foot aluminum boat they were on capsized. Four other people from the boat were uninjured and rescued from a life raft. They were roughly 16 miles west of the Homer spit about where Cook Inlet and Kachemak Bay meet.
