About American Avocet

Description



American Avocet (Recurvirostra americana) has long gray legs, a white body, with black on it's back and black bands that extend down it's wings to it's short pudgy tail. It's head and neck are tan, while it's beak is long and black and curves up from it's front 1/3 to tip.



They're not common to be found in Alaska but not impossible.
