Things to be Aware of

Before going up to Denali you will need to register at the Walter Harper Talkeetna Ranger Station, 22241 B St, Talkeetna, AK 99676. There you will fill out a team form informing the NPS of the intent and duration of your stay, emergency contact information, etc. You will also check out a clean mountain can, that you will return after your time on Denali.

As with all remote drop off and pick ups in Alaska; even though you might have your flights scheduled, you may not be flying in or out that day or days to come. Weather can change from sunny and warm one day to blizzard and snow storm the next. Be prepared for the fact you might be sitting in your tent for days. Temps can range from single digits to feeling like high 70's.
