Common Murre (Uria aalge)is a long, slender black and white sea bird, with a medium pointed bill. They closely resemble their cousin the Thick-billed Murre, with most differences being in the white facial stripe and thinner bill. Juvenile's and molting birds of the two are more difficult to distinguish.
Habitat & RangeThey are found in most waters off the coast of Alaska except along its northern shore and prefer nesting along rocky shoreline.
In the winter off 2015-2016 many common murre's began randomly dying and being found unusually far inland for the species.
