About Northern Shoveler

Description



Northern Shovelers are easily identifiable by their large bills which fan out at their tip. Males are identifiable by their dark green heads, yellow eyes, white chest, and brown-red bellies. Backs are generally dark with white striping.



Diet & Habitat



Northern Shovelers only summer in Alaska, and are found most anywhere other than the Brooks Range and the Aleutians.
